Dear Valued Customers,

We regret to inform you that imports into Bangladesh may experience significant delays following a major fire in the cargo/customs area (“Cargo Village”) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on October 18, 2025. Authorities have suspended all flight operations, and a large, multi-agency firefighting response has been deployed. Local outlets report that the blaze began near Gate 8 in an area used to store imported goods (including courier and import consignments), producing heavy smoke. Access to import warehouses is restricted while damage assessments are conducted. A statement from a cargo official claims that the entire cargo system has collapsed and will take time to restore. At this moment, we have not yet confirmed the full extent of damages and losses, and clearance backlogs are expected once operations resume.

Both Morning Global’s International Express (MGIE) and International Postal (MGIP) services are impacted. Substantial delays are expected, particularly for International Postal services (MGIP), in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we are also assessing the damages and losses to our express and postal packages in transit due to this incident. Our team is working diligently with Dhaka airport officials and local authorities and will provide further updates as they become available.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the service impacts to Bangladesh. For immediate assistance, please contact our Customer Service Team or your dedicated Account Manager.

Thanks and regards,

Morning Global Team
